February 2010

Hey everybody-I am so excited to see how much children are learning and growing in their faith. They are all responding well to this new series Pair o' Bulls ( parables) these are earthly stories that have a heavenly meaning! I love to see children engaged in worship time wether it is twirling around to the song or closing their eyes to worship... it is just too precious. We just learned about the Lost sheep- and of course since on valentines day how appropriate to talk about how Jesus ( the sheppard) left all the others just to go find the one sheep (people) who was lost. Jesus wants us to give him our hearts and not be lost from him! Children were told that they give Jesus their heart when they are living for God and have asked Jesus to come and be a part of their life. Well, Isaiah D, age five claims "he did that a thousand years ago"! I have they best job in the world! This week we are learning the parable of the Sower!

Dates you may want to Know:

  • Tonight: the african children's choir will be performing at 7 PM
  • Kids Choir: has been moved to the NEXT LEVEL HOUR...many children who want to participate can not come on Wed nights because of Awana and otehr commitments. if this date wroks better for your child kindergarten and older we would love to have them. We have five singing events planned now through fathers day.
  • March 28: Children will be participating in the waving of the palms during Church service and kids choir will be singing Hosana!
  • Easter Morning: Children will be having an egg hunt during church that tells the salvation story. we are now seeking donations of plastic eggs. Afterwards each child will be taking them home to share the story with others.
  • March 1st: Summer Splash Water stories of the Bible registration will begin. Brochures will be available then. We look forward to a fun-filled, "son"-filled summer. Each friday of camp includes inflatable waterslide fun and a weekly relevant field trip in addition to standard VBS format of craft, Bible story, snacks, games, etc. These spaces will fill fast as there is limited enrollment. Some scholarships are available.

I hope your week is blessed and as always you and your familiy are in my prayers. Kendra

Welcome to Gateway Childrens Ministry. The intention of this site is for communication purposes and all who use it are asked to be respectful and conduct themselves in the manner in which God ask us to be. A weekly post will provide anyone with an interest in Children's Ministry information about upcoming events, dates and times. Current Curriculum- What does my child do on Sunday? And a place of support as we partner together to raise our children in a personal relationship with their savior.
